Turnbull Lecture 2013

Please join us tomorrow evening for the 2013 Turnbull Lecture. The speaker is Paul Mariani, poet, essayist, and biographer. Mariani has received many honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts, a National Endowment for the Humanities (twice), and the 2009 John Ciardi Award for Lifetime Achievement in Poetry. His lecture is titled “The Awakening of the Giant: Wallace Stevens & the Avant Guarde, 1913-1916.”

Mariani is currently at work on a biography of Stevens. Portions of it will appear in the Winter 2014 issue of The Hopkins Review.

The lecture will take place at 6:30 in Gilman 132. A book signing will follow. It’s all free and open to the public. You can read more here.
